Snow conditions, 22 February 2026

The 35 km course of Jyväskylä Ski Marathon, held on Saturday 7 March, can be skied in free technique. The trail from Vaajakoski directly to Peurunka has been prepared, and its condition is checked every day.

There is about 20–25 cm of natural snow around Jyväskylä and Laukaa. New snow is packed as soon as it falls. The snow is fine and dry, though, and the large grooming machine has not yet been able to get onto the course.

We believe the race can be held at least in a shortened form and in free technique. The short course at Peurunka is in poor condition, and we are looking at other options for it.

The final decision on routes and technique will be made on Friday 27 February 2026 and announced here and on social media.
