Release 22 Feb 2026
The course of the Jyväskylä Ski Marathon is in skiable condition for freestyle technique.
The route of the mass cross-country skiing event held on Saturday 7 March is in skiable condition for freestyle technique on the 35 km course. The section from Vaajakoski directly to Peurunka in Laukaa has been prepared. The condition of the course is monitored daily.
Natural snow depth in the Jyväskylä and Laukaa area is approximately 20–25 cm. All new snowfall will be compacted immediately. However, the snow is fine, dry frost snow, which has prevented the use of a large grooming machine on the course.
Event organizers believe the event can be held at least in a shortened format and using freestyle technique. The 10 km course in Peurunka is in challenging condition, and the organizer is exploring alternative options for carrying out that distance.
The final decision on routes and skiing technique will be made on Friday, 27 Feb 2026. The decision will be announced on the event website and social media channels.
Ticket sales for bus transportation are expected to open during week 9. We apologize for the delay.
